My dropbox is not updating

This isn’t always a problem, but it can be if the sun and moon are aligned in a certain way.

Don't worry, the files in your Dropbox folder will remain untouched.

If unlinking and relinking your account doesn't solve the issue, your settings may be protected or inaccessible due to a permissions problem.

This happened most recently when a video being shared between myself and several coworkers needed to be re-rendered and replaced.

As the replacement was rendered, the file in the host’s Dropbox folder seemed fine, but the rest of us were caught in an infinite sync cycle in which nothing was actually being downloaded.

Problems with individual files, like files incompatible with one computer's operating system, may cause files to sync correctly to all but that computer.

If Dropbox has gotten stuck on one of your computers, it may be unable to upload or download files properly.

Open your firewall's settings to make sure Dropbox is whitelisted; make sure this is the case on all your computers.

An update or change in either Dropbox or your firewall may cause the problem to occur even if it hasn't before, so check your firewall's settings.

Mac OS X 10.7.3 -- Dropbox 1.2.52 I had a similar problem a long time ago.

Your version is outdated and the fact that it didn't self-update is a significant issue as and of itself...

Deleting your Dropbox cache can free up plenty of disk space and resolve sync issues.
